Choi Jin Sil’s son Choi Hwan Hee apologizes for family controversy, “I feel the responsibility as the eldest son”
Choi Hwan Hee apologized for the recent controversy related to his maternal grandmother and younger sister Choi Joon Hee.
On July 15th, Choi Hwan Hee (Z.flat) left a long post on his Instagram account. He introduced himself, “I’m Choi Hwan Hee, son of the late Choi Jin Sil, grandson of my grandmother, and Choi Joon Hee’s older brother”, and said, “I believe that it’s my duty to sincerely apologize for causing concerns to everyone who loves and cherishes our mother and still remembers her as a memory due to the unsavory incident that recently occurred in our family. That’s why I’m carefully writing this post.”
Earlier, Choi Jin Sil’s daughter Choi Joon Hee caused a stir as she reported her maternal grandmother Jung Ok Sook to the police as a case of trespassing. In this regard, Choi Hwan Hee said, “I feel deeply sorry for causing worries and concerns to many people who sympathize with our sad family story even when we show you our happy appearances”.
He emphasized, “Through this incident, our family has realized and learned many things. Also, now that I’m already an adult, I have personally felt my responsibility as the head of the family more deeply.”
Choi Hwan Hee cautiously explained, “As you know, my family may look unstable”, adding “However, I think the emotional ups and downs between parents and children, which are commonly seen in any ordinary family, are a little bit more intense for us. I believe that everything, including my elderly grandmother to my immature sister Joon Hee, who still needs my care, is my responsibility. I will gratefully take all the criticisms and bear them in my mind to grow more.”
He added, “Remember this incident, I will try to make sure that our family matters won’t cause any worries to the public. I will show you a more mature side with a sense of responsibility for the public’s love for my mother.”
Meanwhile, after reporting her grandmother for trespassing, Choi Joon Hee claimed that she had been abused verbally and physically by her grandmother in the past. On the day of Choi Joon Hee’s report, the police also released CCTV footage.
As the controversy intensified, Choi Joon Hee apologized through her Youtube channel, saying “I didn’t expect things to unfold like this after I made the report. I feel very bad that I hurt and made my grandmother suffer a hard time due to my hasty decision. People call me a bad granddaughter, and I have no excuse for my action. I want to formally apologize to my grandmother.”
She added, “Despite not doing anything, my older brother has always been distressed and confused by the negative emotions between me and my grandmother. I’m also sorry for causing inconvenience to unrelated people due to our family conflict.” After then, Choi Joon Hee reportedly visited the police station and submitted a non-prosecution letter regarding her grandmother’s case.
