On December 24th, Jung Il-hoon posted a long article on his Instagram.

Jung Il-hoon said, “Over the past few years, during the investigations, trials and the time I was imprisoned, I was able to reflect deeply on my life and look back on myself”, adding, “I’m sorry for my lateness to deliver this apology to those who have loved me all this time. Even when it’s too late now, I’m still writing this with all my heart.”

He expressed his apology, saying, “I think I deserve to be criticized because I feel so desperate that my actions, which broke the law regardless of reason, could not be justified in any words”, adding, “I’m really sorry that my fault has hurt your heart deeply.”

Jung Il-hoon emphasized, “As much as I have caused harm to our society and disappointed people who trust me, through this letter, I promise that I will live properly in the future and try not to hurt anyone again.”

Lastly, he added, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to those who have waited for my position for a long time”, adding, “I will do my best to become a better person so that I won’t hurt everyone, people who have been hurt by me, anymore. Once again, I’m really sorry.”

Earlier, Jung Il-hoon was indicted on charges of transferring about 133 million won to purchase a total of 826 grams of marijuana, and using them a total of 161 times from 2016 to 2019. He was immediately arrested in court after the first trial court sentenced him to 2 years in prison and an additional fine of 133 million won.

Jung Il-hoon then submitted his appeal due to unfair sentencing.
