Profile of BLACKPINK – The Biggest Kpop Girl group in The World
BLACKPINK is a group of 4 members from YG Entertainment, South Korea, debuted in 2016. BLACKPINK is the first group of YG Entertainment that has no leader. Four members are friends and they discussed their activities with each other in order to make better results so they didn't appoint the leader
On June 29, 2016, YG Entertainment announced the debut of a new girl group, marking the emergence of a successor to the senior group 2NE1 after 7 years. It wasn’t until August 8, 2016, that the 4 girls of BLACKPINK officially debuted before the public.
Despite being newly debuted, BLACKPINK made a significant impression and quickly dominated music charts both domestically and internationally. Once the group’s activities were announced, information about them was sought after on various online platforms. The fanbase for the four girls also grew rapidly.

BLACKPINK’s fandom
Every music group has a dedicated fan community, and BLACKPINK is no exception. “BLINK” is the name specifically designated for fans of this popular girl group. In English, BLINK means to blink or wink. However, in the language of KPOP, BLINK refers to the fandom of BLACKPINK. Therefore, when mentioning BLINK, Kpop fans understand that it refers to the dedicated followers of these talented four girls.
On January 14, 2017, BLACKPINK’s Instagram suddenly posted a black background image with the caption “BLINK” in the center. Immediately, with their “Conan” level detective skills, fans discovered that it was a signal related to the fandom name. Previously, Jennie had also hinted at naming the fandom.
Explaining why the fandom name is “BLINK,” YG stated: “‘BL’ from Black and ‘INK’ from ‘pink’ to form the word Blink. From now on, fans can proudly introduce themselves as “Hello, I’m a Blink, a fan of Black Pink!”
