NewJeans beat BLACKPINK to take #1 on brand reputation rankings for August 2023

Girl group brand reputation rankings for August 2023 unveiled!

The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute analyzed 46,858,362 pieces of brand big data from July 13, 2023, to August 13, 2023, to measure the brand reputation index of girl groups based on participation, media, communication, and community indices. Compared to the previous month’s brand big data of 50,549,740, there was a decrease of 7.30%.

In August 2023, the top 30 girl group brand reputation rankings were as follows: NewJeans, BLACKPINK, LE SSERAFIM, IVE, (G)I-DLE, Oh My Girl, TWICE, Red Velvet, NMIXX, Girls’ Generation, aespa, Mamamoo, Apink, fromis_9, STAYC, ITZY, WJSN, Dreamcatcher, HIGHKEY, Kep1er, TRI.BE, Girl’s Day, APRIL, woo!ah!, EXID, Signature, Queens A, LABOUM, CLC, THE WIND.

NewJeans, the brand ranking first, recorded a brand reputation index of 8,246,017 with participation index 1,301,860, media index 2,019,755, communication index 1,888,376, and community index 3,036,026, marking a 44.56% increase compared to July’s brand reputation index of 5,704,051.

In second place, BLACKPINK achieved a brand reputation index of 4,206,378 with a participation index of 289,748, media index of 1,192,277, communication index of 755,100, and community index of 1,969,253, showing a 1.35% increase from July’s brand reputation index of 4,150,384.

LE SSERAFIM ranked third with a brand reputation index of 3,390,502, including a participation index of 368,628, media index of 932,775, communication index of 539,226, and community index of 1,549,872, indicating a 21.30% increase from July’s brand reputation index of 2,795,120.

IVE secured the fourth place with a brand reputation index of 3,220,636, consisting of a participation index of 388,620, media index of 1,030,653, communication index of 666,796, and community index of 1,134,568, marking a 9.60% increase from July’s brand reputation index of 2,938,434.

(G)I-DLE claimed the fifth spot with a brand reputation index of 2,348,007, including a participation index of 103,768, media index of 625,497, communication index of 755,208, and community index of 863,534, experiencing a 45.99% decrease from July’s brand reputation index of 4,347,392.

Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute’s Director, Koo Changhwan, analyzed, “In August 2023, NewJeans topped the girl group brand reputation rankings. Compared to the previous month, the girl group brand big data decreased by 7.30%. Detailed analysis shows a 34.11% increase in brand consumption, 16.32% increase in brand issues, 29.95% decrease in brand communication, and 12.27% decrease in brand expansion.”

Continuing, he explained, “In the link analysis of NewJeans’ brand reputation index for August 2023, the keywords ‘participate, perform, breakthrough’ stood out. Positive sentiment analysis for NewJeans’ brand showed a 85.07% positive sentiment ratio. Detailed analysis of NewJeans’ brand big data reveals a 219.99% increase in brand consumption, 69.21% increase in brand issues, 8.39% increase in brand communication, and 28.57% increase in brand expansion.”
