Netflix’s surprise announcement of their new original series cast on January 13th drew explosive responses.
On January 13th, Netflix Korea uploaded a photo on their official Twitter account and said, “200 days left before an asteroid collision occurs on Earth. Ahead of the end of this world, unpredictable stories of people living in confusion will be revealed. ‘The Fool at the End of the World’ only on Netflix.”
Netflix’s new drama “The Fool at the End of the World” (or “Goodbye Earth”) depicts the story of a world in chaos and people living the rest of their time in 200 days before the collision between the Earth and an asteroid happens.
Director of “Extracurricular” and “My Name” Kim Jin-min will be in charge of directing. Ahn Eun-jin plays the role of Jin Se-kyung, who volunteers at the City Hall after the news of an asteroid collision is announced and struggles to protect children in danger. Meanwhile, Yoo Ah-in takes on the role of Ha Yoon-sang, Se-kyung’s long-time lover and a researcher at the Institute of Biotechnology.
Jeon Seong-woo was cast for the role of Woo Sung-jae, an assistant who takes care of the believers on behalf of the missing pregnant women. Kim Yoon-hye was selected as Kang In-ah, commander of combat support battalion who is in charge of transporting supplies and maintaining security while traveling through the ruined city.
