BABYMONSTER gained 200 million views before debut, to succeed BLACKPINK as “YouTube Queen?”

YG’s upcoming girl group, BABYMONSTER, is heralding an extraordinary sensation of popularity even before their debut.

According to YG Entertainment on March 14th, the combined views of BABYMONSTER’s teaser videos, which were published on BABYMONSTER and YG’s official YouTube channel, has exceeded 200 million views on the same day.

Since the first launching teaser, which was released back on January 1st, global interest in BABYMONSTER has soared. In addition, within 52 days since its opening, BABYMONSTER’s official YouTube channel has exceeded 1 million subscribers – an impressive feat.

Then, about 72 days after the first video was released, the cumulative number of views exceeded 200 million, proving BABYMONSTER as a “monster rookie” in the YouTube aspect.

On the channel, YG has released live videos, dance performance videos, and individual introduction videos of 7 prospective members sequentially. From the video, it can be seen that the 7 members, including Ahyeon, Haram, Rora, Pharita, Chiquita, Ruka, and Asa, boasted outstanding musical skills such as vocal, rap, and performance, raising the expectations of global fans.

The reason why BABYMONSTER achieved 200 million views only with pre-debut introductory content, not with music videos or comeback promotional videos, is that interest in them is so high.

As the prospective members consist of various nationalities such as Korean, Japanese and Thai, it is known that they are receiving favorable reviews not only in Asia but also in North and South America and Europe.

In particular, the “Last Evaluation” video, which contains the final evaluation process for selecting final members, was first released on March 10th, drawing attention. Interest in BABYMONSTER, which has already gone viral as an “all-rounder” group, is expected to increase.

As the senior group BLACKPINK is called “YouTube Queen” with Guinness records such as “Artist with the most YouTube subscribers” and “Most-viewed YouTube videos in the first 24 hours”, expectations are high on whether BABYMONSTER will be able to continue the record march on YouTube.
