Not BTS but this man called the ‘King of K-POP’ in the US

Lee Soo Man is the main character of an upcoming Amazon documentary.

As reported by Deadline on November 29th, a documentary titled Lee Soo Man – The King of K-pop” is under production at Amazon Prime Video.

Director Ting Poo revealed that the documentary will tell the story of “an influential figure, a visionary whose works put Korea on the map”. Lee Soo Man is described as a world builder and technologist whose creative mind dominates global entertainment. He is even dubbed the Steve Jobs of the K-pop industry. 

There is currently no official broadcast schedule for “The King of K-pop”, but once completed, the documentary will be released via Amazon Prime Video in 240 countries around the world.

Lee Soo Man founded SM Entertainment, one of Korea’s largest entertainment empires, in 1998. He is the producer of various successful Korean singers and idol groups across generations, such as BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, EXO, NCT, Red Velvet, and aespa, etc.
