“Hello. This is Management SOOP.

We would like to reveal our statement on reports about Nam Joo-hyuk.

First of all, regarding the recent second anonymous report, we have checked the fact through our company, the actor as well as other channels from different angles and would like to clearly confirm that the claims of the second informant are not true.

Next, the article about the Kakaotalk group chat conversation released today did not publicize the full story of the incident at that time, but only extracted some fragmentary scenes without giving any explanation of the context. The informant’s claim that our actor attempted to apologize to them is also not true at all.

The fact related to what happened in the Kakaotalk group chat is really complicated and it is also a matter that belongs to a very private area of the people involved in the group chat. As mentioned in the article, this case was already concluded with an apology at school during that time. Therefore, it is not an appropriate way to use the media to disclose the whole story one after another at this stage. This part will also be clearly identified in the process of legal action that will be proceeded with soon. In addition, we terribly regret the fact that the media unilaterally made their report without going through a fact-checking process with our company.

We earnestly ask you to do a favor. So far, this is a situation in which anonymous informants’ claims had not been checked nor proved with evidence but were already exposed to the media and accepted as if they were true. On the other hand, no matter how much our agency and actor insisted that there was no such issue, it is still difficult to prove his innocence because malicious reports were reported as facts. Even if the criminal proceedings later confirm his innocence, this current reality is still irreversible and it has caused too much pain to the actor.

For this reason, we believe that we have no choice but to file a complaint quickly and respond firmly to the second informant, following the first informant, in order to protect the honor of our actor. In the future, we plan to strongly proceed with legal procedures against Youtubers who spread rumors as well as unconfirmed and indiscriminate claims.”
