KARA mentioned Goo Hara at Seoul Music Awards: “A friend couldn’t come with us”

Second-generation girl group KARA, who was announced as the winner of “Special KPOP Award”, gave an emotional speech.

On the afternoon of January 19th, the  32nd Seoul Music Awards was held at KSPO DOME, Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

Here, second-generation girl group KARA, who made a comeback in November after 7 years to celebrate their 15th debut anniversary, was named the winner for the “Special KPOP Award”. In particular, KARA debuted in 2007 with the album “The First Blooming”, and later received a lot of love with hits such as “Honey”, “Mister”, “Lupin”, and “Jumping”.

Upon receiving the award, KARA member Park Gyuri said, “Standing in a place like this for the first time in a long while, I honestly don’t know what to say. We released an album in 2022 to commemorate the 15th anniversary of our debut, but I never thought we would receive so much love and such a great reaction. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to those who helped us release the album.”

Then, Han Seungyeon indirectly mentioned the late KARA member Goo Hara, saying, “We have a friend who couldn’t come with us today, and we will happily receive the award with that friend.

On the other hand, Goo Hara, a former member of KARA, passed away in 2019.
