“I was in a nearly naked state for 4-5 hours”, Song Hye Kyo’s shocking confession ahead of “The Glory” Part 2 release

A behind-the-scenes story revealed in Song Hye Kyo’s recent conversation with fans ahead of “The Glory” Part 2 release is drawing attention.

On March 8th, Song Hye Kyo met with “The Glory” audience at an event held at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. She talked about the exposure scene in episode 6 of Part 1. In that scene, Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo) takes off her clothes and shows her body full of burn wounds to Joo Yeo Jeong (Lee Do Hyun).

Song Hye Kyo surprised everyone when she confessed, “I wore the makeup of burn wounds for almost 4-5 hours in a nearly naked state. To film that scene, I hardly ate anything for three days and didn’t drink much water the previous day”. In fact, Song Hye Kyo recalled that she worried about this exposure scene the most in Season 1.

Lead actor Lee Do Hyun also mentioned the same scene in a past interview, calling it “a very precious scene” to him personally. He said it was a scene that he re-shot after saying “I regret not having enough time to shoot it well. If there were to be an opportunity, I would like to shoot it again”, adding “If we didn’t shoot that scene, I don’t think our drama would not be as successful as it is now”.

Song Hye Kyo also revealed the most memorable line to her when talking with the audience that day. She mentioned the line “There is no forgiveness. So there will be no glory either,” saying, “If I seek revenge without forgiveness, wouldn’t I become another perpetrator? It doesn’t mean ‘I’ll live well after taking revenge on you’, but rather ‘I would also fall into the abyss with you’. Moon Dong Eun also feels so heartbroken.”

In addition, regarding the line “Stop laughing like that” in the recently released teaser for Part 2, which aroused explosive responses, the actress said, “It is a really important scene in Part 2. We shot it in the latter half of the filming, and at that time, I was nearly 100% immersed in Moon Dong Eun. It was a moment when I was able to naturally express that kind of emotion because I was already 130% in harmony with other actors.”

“The Glory” Part 1, which was released on December 30th last year, depicted the meticulous revenge plan prepared by a woman whose soul was broken due to her school violence experience. Soon after its release, the drama gained worldwide popularity and reached the top spot on Netflix’s chart for non-English TV series.

In Part 2, which will be released at 5 p.m. on the 10th, the full-scale revenge of Moon Dong Eun, a school violence victim, is expected to unfold. Similar to Part 1, Part 2 also has 8 episodes.
