4 Korean actors who don’t have many film projects yet are still extremely popular and loved by the public
After all, where does these famous Korean stars’ allure originate from?
Apart from actors who put forth a lot of effort but seldom get noticed, some actors who only appear in a few films yet are still famous. They are still the faces that are sought after by the press and fans every time they come back.
1. Won Bin
It is no coincidence that Won Bin is more often referred to as an “advertising star” than is known as an actor. Because, in the 10 years from 2001 to 2010, Won Bin only participated in 5 movies and only 1 TV series in 2002. Up to now, Lee Na Young’s husband has only appeared in 12 film projects. Perhaps, the actor seems to have lost interest in acting after getting married and owning a huge fortune from advertising contracts.
2. Lee Young Ae
Lee Young Ae received a lot of attention thanks to her role in the blockbuster “Dae Jang Geum“. In 2003, she only appeared in one movie, Sympathy For Lady Vengeance. Until early 2015, she accepted to play in Saimdang, Light’s Diary. Lee Young Ae’s return to the screen in 2021 with Inspector Koo, however, appears to have been a flop.
3. Jo In Sung
Similar to Won Bin, Jo In Sung is also one of the few Korean stars with few film projects. Success has come to Jo In Sung since he participated in What Happened In Bali in 2004. However, more than 10 years later, he has only received less than 10 films including movies and TV series. Yet, just re-appearing on the screen, Jo In Sung immediately broke a series of his own records. A typical example is a great success of the movie blockbuster Escape From Mogadishu, which is said to be a “medicine” to revive the Korean cinema industry after 2 years of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
4. Kim Tae Hee
Compared to other A-list female stars like Jeon Ji Hyun or Song Hye Kyo, Kim Tae Hee, there are far fewer works. Since her breakthrough role in Stairway to Heaven in 2003, this Korean actress has acted in a total of eight dramas and four films. Kim Tae Hee’s career, on the other hand, has been described as “not particularly developed” but “not going downhill.” Her acting abilities are also highly appreciated.
However, in 2020, Kim Tae Hee had a relatively successful comeback with Hi, Bye Mama!
