Snowdrop continues to be in trouble: be accused of “buying” ratings, had to disable the comment section

Will Snowdrop be banned from broadcasting?

Episode 1 of Snowdrop aired and stirred up Korean social networks.  Unthinkable things that have never been seen in the history of Korean cinema also happened.  The first is that Koreans signed a petition sent to the Blue House asking to stop broadcasting this drama. As of 4pm on December 19, less than a day since the application was opened, the number of signatures has reached 126,000 and only 200,000 more signatures are needed that the Blue House will have to make a decision.  Previously, it was the Blue House that made the decision for Snowdrop to continue production, and in this situation will the Blue House’s decision change?

Due to the negative comments of the majority of Korean people, JTBC even had to disable the comment section, leading to the station being criticized more harshly. Furthermore, the fact that Nielsen Korea, a website that specializes in publishing Korean programs’ ratings, was down for most of December 19 fueled suspicions that JTBC had “purchased” good ratings for Snowdrop. It is rumored that on December 20, Nielsen Korea will announce the ratings of programs shown on December 18.

  • I hate these actors, they are all ignorant
  • It seems that the writer was determined to strangle the democratization movement with all his might.
  • This makes me tear up with rage. Is this how those crazy f*ckers are using the freedom they gained from the people who fought for us? This makes me wonder if we really need to respect freedom of expression
  • I signed the petition. They’re crazy
  • Well said. They had so many opportunities to cancel this but instead, decided to broadcast it.
