“Queen of Tears” Hits 20% Rating, Right Ahead Of Breaking “Crash Landing On You” Record

“Queen of Tears” surpassed “Goblin’ and became the drama with the second-highest rating on the cable channel tvN

Released on April 14th, episode 12 of tvN’s Sat-Sun drama “Queen of Tears” showed Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) asking Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won) to cancel their divorce but she pushed him away knowing that her memories are gradually disappearing.

The rating of this broadcast soared to 20.7% nationwide with a real-time peak of 22.6% and 23.2% in the Seoul area with a 25.2% peak, breaking its own rating record for the fifth consecutive week. The drama also placed No.1 among programs of the same broadcasting time on all channels.

In the 2049 chart targeting tvN’s audience, “Queen of Tears” showed 9.4% for both nationwide and Seoul area ratings. As such, the drama continues its upward trend and sweeps the top spot in drama rankings.

By achieving the rating of 20.7%, “Queen of Tears” quickly surpassed “My Mister” (18.1%), “Reply 1988” (18.8%), and “Goblin” (20.5%) and is only placing behind “Crash Landing on You” (21.7%). Screenwriter Park Ji-eun, who helped “Crash Landing on You” become the highest-ranking drama on tvN, is once again heading toward the No.1 spot with “Queen of Tears”.

Since the gap is only 1%, expectations for “Queen of Tears” to surpass “Crash Landing on You” are rising. Attention is focused on whether Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won’s combination will be able to beat “Crash Landing on You” and take No.1 in tvN’s drama rating chart.

Meanwhile, “Queen of Tears” airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 p.m.
