Lim Ji Yeon reveals mom’s reaction to her debut movie “Obsessed” with shocking exposure scene

Actress Lim Ji Yeon talked about how her mother reacted after watching her acting performance in the movie “Obsessed”.

Lim Ji Yeon guested on the August 2nd broadcast of tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” in a special episode called “I Can Hear Your Voice”.

That day, the movie “Obsessed” was introduced as the work that made Lim Ji Yeon’s name known to the public.

Regarding the reason she selected “Obsessed” as her debut film, Lim Ji Yeon said, “It was not easy at all but I considered it a precious opportunity”, adding “While reading the script, I was really interested in the character Jong Ga Heun so I wanted to try it. I think the director realized how much I desired that role.”

However, Lim Ji Yeon confessed that she actually developed fear after filming “Obsessed”.

The actress shared, “I was very worried about my parents felt since I was too young back then and the movie contains a shocking scene”, adding “It was my debut work, so I was really afraid of how they would feel when seeing it on the screen”.

Contrary to Lim Ji Yeon’s concerns, her mother visited the movie premiere and gave her a bouquet of flowers while praising her daughter, “Our Ji Yeonie is so beautiful”.

Lim Ji Yeon smiled and said, “That moment becomes a great source of support to encourage me to continue acting and not giving up.”

Later, in an interview with the production team, Lim Ji Yeon said, “I had lots of worries back then. I felt a little scared when reading the script of ‘Obsessed’ for the first time because I was too young back then”, adding “I wondered, ‘Can I do this well? Will my mom feel embarrassed, scared, or hurt because of me?’. I kept worrying about that at that time.”

She added, “There were difficult moments, but I had my parents who always support me. They made me feel stronger”, adding “Seeing my mother’s unwavering support like that, I gained strength and continued acting.”
