Shin Ae-ra encouraged adoption during her appearance on “News Show.”
Actress Shin Ae-ra appeared on the latest episode of CBS’ “Kim Hyun-jung’s News Show,” which aired on November 9th.
Shin Ae-ra has a son and two adopted daughters, Ye-eun and Ye-jin. Regarding this, the actress shared she had always wanted to adopt while doing volunteer work, but couldn’t just adopt one child and leave the other kids behind. However, 10 months later, she saw her daughters and thought of adopting them.
Shin Ae-ra said, “Since they were young, I always told Ye-eun and Ye-jin that they have two mothers.. I explained that their mother couldn’t raise them, but she kept our Ye-eun and Ye-jin for 10 months and let them see the light of the world,” adding, “I told them, ‘If you want to meet her when you become an adult, you can meet her. Then I will thank her.’”
Adopted children usually have to confront the prejudice of the world. Shin Ae-ra recalled her daughters being teased for being adopted when she was young, “I told my kid, ‘I’m sorry, but that friend is ignorant about adoption. Adoption is such a beautiful thing, and that friend didn’t know anything about it.’” Shin Ae-ra revealed she met the child who teased her daughter by chance, so she told the kid, “Oh my. I heard you don’t know much about adoption? I’ll tell you, just ask me any time,'” revealing her wise countermeasures.
Regarding the reaction of her husband Cha In-pyo, “Cha In-pyo said, ‘You don’t have to talk too much about it’ one day because I talk about adoption to the children every day and about my biological mother.” So I scolded him. This is a good thing, and I asked if he would be curious if he thought he was adopted,” he said. “He follows me well, Mi-Dok. I appreciate that,” he said.
