Company Temporarily Halts TEMPEST Hwarang’s Activities Due to Controversy over Going to a Club During Health Hiatus

Yuehua Ent announced on March 6th through an official statement, “We have decided to temporarily suspend Hwarang’s activities. Therefore, the activities for TEMPEST’s 5th mini album will proceed with a 6-member lineup excluding Hwarang.”

The agency continued, “Hwarang has been engaged in deep discussions with us regarding future activities in light of personal privacy issues recently disclosed through social media. During this process, Hwarang was unable to regain trust, and we determined that it would be difficult for us to continue TEMPEST’s activities in its entirety under these circumstances.”

They added, “(Regarding the mini album) We ask for your understanding in advance that there may be footage of Hwarang in pre-shooting and production matters. We apologize once again for causing concern to our fans with this sudden news.”

As a result, Hwarang will also leave MBC’s ‘Show Champion’, where he joined as an MC on February 21st.

Previously, on social media, a video was posted of Hwarang admitting to going to a club during his health hiatus when asked by a fan during a video call fansign event, causing a controversy.

He said, “I went to the club but didn’t do anything bad. I have no intention of deceiving (fans).”

Following this, Yuehua Ent released an official statement saying, “Hwarang deeply regrets visiting the club. He has pledged not to repeat the same behavior in the future.”

Yuehua added, “Our agency and Hwarang will pay special attention to ensuring that such behavior does not recur. We once again deeply apologize for causing concern to the fans and TEMPEST members at the time of their comeback.”
