Andrew Garfield on his decision to take some time off from acting, “I want to just be a bit of a person”

Andrew Garfield is going on a much-needed hiatus from acting after a busy year.

After a hectic year of taking on roles in box office hits and critically acclaimed films namely “Spider Man: No Way Home”, “The Eyes of Tammy Faye”, “Tick, Tick … Boom!”, ahead of the release of his new series “Under The Banner of Heaven”, Andrew Garfield announced that he would be taking a break from acting.

“I’m going to rest for a little bit,” he told Variety, “I need to recalibrate and reconsider what I want to do next and who I want to be and just be a bit of a person for a while.”

This decision makes perfect sense given how jam-packed his filming schedules have been within the last couple of years. It seems that the Academy Award-nominated actor now wishes to stay out of the spotlight for a bit to enjoy a normal pace of life.

He explained, “I think it was actually a necessity for us to have game nights and go into nature and hike, swim, dive and lakes and dance and eat good food so that we could really come back and fully give ourselves to our job.”

Andrew Garfield did not specify how long this break will last. However, audiences can still meet him in the upcoming TV series “Under the Banner of Heaven”, his last work before taking some time off from acting.
