Recently, photos of the alumni of the Korea National University of Arts, where the late actress Yoo Joo Eun graduated from, taken at her funeral were shared and drew netizens’ attention. The photos were posted on Instagram by Yoo Joo Eun’s alumni.
In a photo, the alumni smile brightly in front of a portrait of Yoo Joo Eun while making hearts with their hands over their heads. Although they are smiling, their eyes and faces look red from crying. The alumnus who shared this photo wrote, “Goodbye Joo Eun.”
Another photo was uploaded with the caption “Princess is flying now”. In the photo, all of the alumni look at Yoo Joo Eun’s portrait and point at it with their arms. About 20 alumni gather in one place to send Yoo Joo Eun in a special way.
The reason why they were able to send Yoo Joo Eun off with a smile was because of what was written in her suicide note. On August 29th, through Instagram, Yoo Joo Eun’s older brother published the suicide note she left before leaving this world.
The released suicide note contains her apologies for the family, gratitude for friends and acquaintances, and aspirations for acting. She also mentioned the atmosphere of the funeral hall she wanted, saying, “I want a lot of people to be called to my funeral. I want to see everyone for the first time in a while and check in on anyone who is going through a hard time.”
The last sentence of her note reads, “I love you, Mom and Dad. Please don’t cry.”
Actress Park Ju Hyun, Yoo Joo Eun’s alumni at the Korea National University of Arts, wrote in memory of the late actress, “I hope that you can fly more freely and beautifully than anyone else in the world. I will pray for you.”
Meanwhile, Yoo Joo Eun became known by starring in tvN’s ‘Big Forest’ and TV Chosun’s ‘Joseon Survival Period’.
