On November 29th, Mnet’s “2022 MAMA AWARDS” was held spectacularly at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, with Jeon Somi as the host. It was previously announced that the 2022 MAMA AWARDS, which include the appearances of top artists and unprecedented performances, is held for two days, on the 29th and 30th of November.
On the first day, a total of 10 artists, including BTS and BLACKPINK, won the Bonsang “Worldwide’s Fan Choice” at the 2022 MAMA. In addition, IVE, NMIXX, LE SSERAFIM, and Kep1er won the rookie award “Favorite New Artist Award”.
In addition, BTS was also announced as the winner of the Daesang prize “Yogibo Worldwide Icon of the Year Award”.
At the awards ceremony on November 29th, Stray Kids was named as the first winner of the Worldwide Fans’ Choice Award and quickly expressed their delight. “Thank you so much for giving us such a precious award. We came this far thanks to our fans, and it’s such a huge honor,” the group said, adding, “Please look forward to us in the future. We want to become a team that sincerely makes music.”
Then, SEVENTEEN was named as the second winner of the Worldwide Fans’ Choice Awards. The group expressed their gratitude through a video, saying, “We are really grateful to our fans.”
The third winner of the Worldwide Fans’ Choice was Treasure, who said, “It’s the second time we’ve come to Mama, and it feels like a dream to receive such an award in this dream-like venue. I would like to thank our fans, who gave us this award.”
TXT was named as the fourth recipient of the Worldwide Fans’ Choice Award, and expressed their feelings by saying. “We ask for your continued support and love.” Then, GOT7 was called as the fifth recipient, and sent a thank-you video to fans. PSY and NCT Dream were named as the 6th and 7th recipients.
As the eighth winner of the prize, ENHYPEN was delighted when they came on stage, saying, “Thank you so much. In fact, there are many people who helped us a lot until we received such an award.”
BTS and BLACKPINK were named as the final winners of Worldwide Fans’ Choice, and both expressed their joy.
Then, IVE won the Favorite New Artist Award, which was given to rookies. “Thank you to Dive (fandom of IVE) for sending us so much love this year. We will continue to work hard, so please look forward to it”, the group said.
NMIXX also won the Favorite New Artist Award, and expressed their bewilderment. Following them, LE SSERAFIM also joined the ranks of Favorite New Artist winners, and Kep1er was announced as the final awardee.
