Fans are looking forward to BTS’s first group activity since their group activity suspension announcement last month.
On July 19th, the Busan city government and the 2030 Busan World Expo Bid Committee announced that they had held an ambassador appointment ceremony for BTS at the HYBE Conference Hall. All members of BTS, co-chairman of the 2020 Busan World Expo – Prime Minister Han Deok-su, Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Choi Tae-won, Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon, and HYBE’s CEO Park Ji-won attended the event.
BTS will join a large-scale global concert in Busan this October as public relations ambassador. Through the 2030 Busan World Expo, they plan to promote the host city of the event Busan, and attract domestic and global attention. BTS will also participate in three sections, including Bureau International des Expositions (BIE)’s general presentation, on-site inspection, and negotiations, to attract BIE members to join hands.
BTS, who is making K-pop an irreplaceable genre, has grown into a global icon. They have spread their influence around the world beyond the realm of music through their U.N speeches about the problems of future generations.
At the ceremony, Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon said, “Following world-renowned actor Lee Jung-jae, BTS will be joining as a public relations ambassador and they are expected to further increase interest and support for the 2030 Busan World Expo in Korea and overseas”, adding “Since the new government has also taken the 2030 Busan World Expo as a national task and is investing on it, the event will surely succeed in attracting and repaying the public’s support.”
