“We ask for your understanding…” Yoo Jae-suk made a big decision 32 years after debut (+ fans’ mixed reactions)
Comedian Yoo Jae-suk, who has been in the 32nd year since his debut, made a big decision to “refuse gifts and support from fans”. This decision was delivered through his agency.
Yoo Jae-suk‘s agency Antenna posted an announcement on their official Instagram on Oct 6th. Antenna said, “We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has always supported Yoo Jae-suk’s activities, and we would like to ask for your understanding.”
They confessed, “We are always grateful for the letters and gifts you have sent Yoo Jae-suk, as well as the sincere time and heart to prepare them. However, only encouraging messages are enough, so please send only letters with your sincere feelings rather than gifts and support.”
They added, “As the decision was made in consideration of various circumstances, we ask for your understanding with an open heart.”
Some fans expressed discomfort below the post, saying it was a sudden announcement. They expressed anger, “Why does the agency block communication channels between fans and Yoo Jae-suk and post an unexpected notice only now?”
On the other hand, some netizens responded that it was not understandable to get angry at Antenna’s notice, saying, “Isn’t it not obligatory for celebrities to receive gifts or letters from fans and authenticate them?”
