Actor Lee Kwang-soo shared a surprising behind-the-scenes story about his relationship with Lee Sun-bin during a recent appearance on the YouTube talk show Pinggyego.
The topic arose when Ji Ye-eun, who is currently in a public relationship with dancer Vata, shared her thoughts on dating in the public eye.
According to Ji Ye-eun, being open about a relationship can actually make things easier. “It’s more comfortable. We can go out more freely,” she explained.
She then revealed that she had called Yoo Jae-suk for advice the day before news of her relationship became public.
That confession immediately reminded Lee Kwang-soo of his own experience.
Looking back on the early days of his romance with Lee Sun-bin, Lee Kwang-soo revealed that he had also sought Yoo Jae-suk’s guidance before his relationship became public.
“Come to think of it, I called Jae-suk hyung before my dating news came out too,” he recalled.
The actor explained that he had approached Yoo Jae-suk with concerns about a personal situation and asked for advice regarding his growing relationship with Lee Sun-bin.
At the time, the two were still getting to know each other, and Lee Kwang-soo admitted he was cautious about how to proceed.
Yoo Jae-suk then shared the advice he remembered giving his longtime friend. “You absolutely have to hold on to Sun-bin. And whatever Sun-bin tells you to do, you should do it.”
His comment immediately triggered laughter from everyone on set.
Lee Kwang-soo jokingly responded: “What am I, her servant? What exactly am I supposed to do?”
The playful exchange highlighted the close friendship between the two Running Man stars, who have worked together for years.
The conversation became even funnier when Lee Kwang-soo acknowledged that Yoo Jae-suk had indeed provided dating advice during the early stages of the relationship.
According to the actor, he frequently asked questions such as whether he should contact Lee Sun-bin and how he should approach certain situations.
“At the beginning, I asked him a lot because I was being careful,” Lee Kwang-soo explained.
However, he quickly followed up with a joke that caught Yoo Jae-suk off guard. “Jae-suk hyung has been giving me dating coaching for 10 years, and honestly, Sun-bin is the first time it’s actually worked. There were a few others before that.”
The remark sent the cast into laughter.
Refusing to back down, Yoo Jae-suk playfully took credit for the couple’s success. “I’m Lee Kwang-soo’s dating coach. Sure, there were a few failures, but look at him now.”
He then added that Lee Sun-bin is “a really good person,” expressing his support for the couple’s long-lasting relationship.
Lee Kwang-soo and Lee Sun-bin first crossed paths through Running Man in 2016. After months of speculation, the pair officially confirmed their relationship in 2018.
Since then, they have become one of South Korea’s most beloved celebrity couples, earning praise for maintaining a stable and low-key romance despite being in the public eye.
