Yoo Jae Suk introduces unique Youtube content that shows his raw appearance without camera directions
Following OTT, “National MC” Yoo Jae Suk advanced to Youtube entertainment shows.
With his purpose of “doing what I want to do”, Yoo Jae Suk decided to show natural his chats with acquaintances without context. Fans are enthusiastic about such a fresh content, which is explosive because of Yoo Jae Suk, as they cannot find it on TV shows. Yoo Jae Suk also expressed his desire for profits when saying “I welcome PPL”.
In the past, Yoo Jae Suk only appeared on terrestrial broadcasts, but he entered comprehensive programming TV channels in 2015. Since then, he has become less afraid of taking on new challenges compared to other MCs, and successfully expanded his scope by appearing on various OTT shows. Nevertheless, Yoo Jae Suk was hesitant about making a Youtube appearance. Explaining the reason, he said, “If I do something, I have to do it properly. I don’t have enough time for Youtube”.
Eventually, Yoo Jae Suk finally set foot on Youtube through his first corner “Excuse Go”. “Excuse Go”, which released the first episode on November 17th, is a kind of content that tells small stories and gives viewers laughter by showing Yoo Jae Suk chatting freely with his friends without context. This content is released on the Youtube channel “DdeunDdeun”, which marks the start of an independent studio where Antenna artists can talk freely without restrictions.
Yoo Jae Suk’s first guest was Ji Seok Jin, his 30-year “close friend”. The first video of “Excuse Go”, which lasts for about 30 minutes, was very fresh and impressive. With minimal camera equipment, Yoo Jae Suk and Ji Seok Jin sat on a park bench and continued to chat without moving anywhere. There are not many editings other than some simple cuts. Subtitles are added for parts where the two’s audios overlap.
Regarding the reason for broadcasting on YouTube with such content, Yoo Jae Suk drew a line, “‘I have these contents. What platform will fit the best?’ 5 people opened this channel on YouTube and I thought this would be good! That’s why I’m going to try it out. But on the other hand, there’s no direction or purpose.”
However, the result of YouTube content is profit in the end. Yoo Jae Suk said, “The fact that we’re not looking for profit and just making content is not true. We also need to make a profit. If there’s PPL, we’ll do all of that, right?” He then joked to Ji Seok Jin until the end, “If there’s profit from this clip, I’ll give it to you. I don’t think we’ll get a lot, though.”
It is a video without direction or purpose as Yoo Jae Suk said, but subscribers’ responses are hot. The video surpassed 240,000 views within a day of release. Earlier, Yoo Jae Suk appeared as a guest on Kim Jong Kook’s YouTube channel “Gym Jong Kook” and exceeded 9.12 million views. This is the fourth most viewed video among the contents posted by Kim Jong Kook so far. Accordingly, people are looking forward to the next guest of Yoo Jae Suk’s “Excuse Go”.
