Actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Um Hong-sik) who is in trial on charges of habitual drug use made an official statement
Infinity, a law firm in charge of Yoo Ah-in’s legal representation, said on November 3rd, “The details of the prosecution against the defendant Um Hong-sik are currently being reported through the media,” adding, “At this point, all the information about the prosecution are being reported by media as if they were confirmed, and some of the reports are even different from the real contents of the prosecution.”
He added, “I would like to say that the Defendant will sincerely clarify his position through a pleading in accordance with the procedure during the future trial process.”
Previously, on November 2nd, it was reported that Yoo Ah-in smoke weed with his acquaintances B and C in an outdoor swimming pool located in Los Angeles, California in January. B, C, and Yoo Ah-in became nervous when another YouTuber A, who came to the swimming pool to film a YouTube vlog, witnessed their drug smoking, and later the actor decided to make A an accomplice for fear of him revealing his drug smoking to the outside world and forced him to smoke despite his rejection.
