Wedding dress torn, bride’s body exposed “The wedding industry these days is tough”

A bride’s wedding day, which should be the happiest, turned into a nightmare as her wedding dress tore, exposing her body

On Dec 13th, JTBC’s “Incident” received a tip that a wedding dress tore, revealing the bride’s body.

The incident occurred on Dec 2nd at a wedding hall in Gyeongsangnam-do. In the video footage released by the media, the bride, A, is seen entering the wedding venue, holding her father’s hand. However, as she walks and greets the guests, her body is clearly exposed from the back. The back of the wedding dress was torn, and her body was fully exposed every time she walked.

A, unaware of this, only realized the situation when a friend sitting in the guest section told her, “The back is torn.” The staff (helper) responsible for the dress came later to fix it, but A complained that she could not focus for the rest of the wedding.

In particular, it was confirmed that the wedding dress had already been torn before the bride’s entrance. While other parts of the wedding dress were secured with straps, the problematic part was only fixed with a pin.

After the wedding, A complained to the company. However, the company responded with a vague promise to check and contact her later. Meanwhile, the helper separately contacted her to apologize.

As the company’s response was not satisfactory, A went to complain in person. The company explained, “While other parts are fixed with straps, the problematic part is fixed with a pin. It seems that part burst.” They justified it by saying, “These days, dresses are fixed with pins as a trend.”

Furthermore, the company claimed, “The helper isn’t our employee. It’s unfair.” They pleaded for leniency, “Due to the declining birthrate, the wedding industry is tough.”

In the end, when A requested compensation for the wedding dress expenses, the company said, “The wedding dress cost is included in the package, and we can’t disclose the amount. We’ll talk to the helper, so please go first.”

Currently, A and the company are reportedly discussing how to proceed with further measures.
