YG Changed BABYMONSTER’s Debut Date?

Controversy arose as the debut date of BABYMONSTER on YG’s official website has been changed

Recently, fans found out that the debut date of the girl group BABYMONSTER on YG’s official website was noted as April 1st, 2024 instead of November 27th, 2023.

BABYMONSTER released the single “Batter Up” on November 27th, 2023 with six members. A few days before the debut, YG announced that Ahyeon would be absent from this promotion due to health reasons. Later, the six-member BABYMONSTER released their second single “Stuck in the Middle” on February 1st, 2024. However, the group did not have any promotional activities for these two singles.

Shortly after that, Yang Hyun-suk revealed Ahyeon’s return to the group after her recovery and BABYMONSTER’s comeback plan with an album on April 1st.  In a recent video introducing the tracks in BABYMONSTER’s new album, Yang Hyun-suk said, “I see BABYMONSTER’s official debut as the release of this mini album”, adding that BABYMONSTER will begin doing broadcast activities as a group of 7 starting this promotion.

As such, fans are wondering if YG means BABYMONSTER only debuts when there’s Ahyeon by changing the group’s debut date. In addition, many fans are also criticizing the agency for ignoring the other six members with this issue.

On the other hand, some pointed out that WINNER’s debut date was also written wrongly, suggesting a website error.
