SHINee’s Onew has been resting for about six months due to health problems
On December 15th, Onew posted on his social media, “I received countless birthday wishes! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I’m so happy! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so much. Best wishes to everyone!”
Onew celebrated his birthday on December 14th. Fans showed their support for Onew by displaying his posters on Shinjuku Shinokubo electronic screen in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and Hongik University M screen in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
Onew is currently suspending his activities due to health problems. In June, his agency announced, “As Onew’s condition continues to be worsened, he has been counseled and examined, and advised by medical staff that he needs stability and treatment.”
Onew also made his statement, “I’m sorry to have caused so many people trouble and I’d appreciate it if you could think of it as a time for me to take a breath in order to come back with SHINee in the future.”
Later, Onew’s appearance in some variety programs has become a hot topic. His face and body looked so thin that his bones were visible. Fans suspected that his poor condition led to weight loss.
This is the first time in about six months that Onew delivered an update. Fans were also relieved by the news that he is recovering from his health problems.
