Yeon Jung Hoon opens up about their first encounter with his wife Han Ga In + her reaction to his love confession
Yeon Jung Hoon recalls sweet memories with his wife Han Ga In and tells these stories for the first time on television.
Han Ga In – Yeon Jung Hoon is one of the most admired celebrity couples in Korea’s entertainment industry. The two have been married for 16 years, but they are still passionately in love like the day they first fell for each other.
Recently, Yeon Jung Hoon revealed more stories about how he got together with his gorgeous wife on the show 2 Days & 1 Night. Yeon Jung Hoon and Han Ga In met for the first time as co-stars in 2003’s drama Yellow Handkerchief. They fell in love on set, but Yeon Jung Hoon admitted he had no idea Han Ga In would be his life partner when they first met.
The actor said: “It wasn’t love at first sight. The first time I met Han Ga In, I didn’t think much of it. But then I gradually developed feelings for her.” This made other members of 2 Days & 1 Night surprised because Han Ga In is famous for her beauty, so it is difficult for anyone not to fall for her at first sight. VIXX’s Ravi wondered, “Don’t you think she was pretty?”
As they spent more time working together during the filming process, the two became closer. Yeon Jung Hoon recalled the exact moment when he fell in love with his co-star, “It was springtime, it was warmer than now, and that was when the cherry blossoms were in bloom.” Because of his feelings for Han Ga In, Yeon Jung Hoon also gradually changed his dressing style to match her.
Yeon Jung Hoon went on to reveal that he did not have enough courage to confess his feelings to Han Ga In in person, so he did it over the phone. Different from his expectations, Han Ga In’s first response was: “Why did it take you so long?”. Yeon Jung Hoon then confusedly explained, “Because I had to think a lot”.
In the complicated entertainment industry where there are countless breakups of celebrity couples, the happy family of Yeon Jung Hoon – Han Ga In makes the public believe in true love. The two officially tied the knot in 2005, when both were much younger than the marriage age of most Korean stars (Han Ga In was 23 years old and Yeon Jung Hoon was 27 years old). In 2016, Han Ga In gave birth to their first daughter and then got pregnant with a son in 2019.
