On May 30, Han Ga In appeared on the YouTube channel Ggondaehee, where she openly discussed her married life.
During the conversation, Han Ga In addressed the question she is frequently asked: whether she would marry Yeon Jung Hoon again if given another chance in a new life. She argued that the question itself was flawed.
“I got married so early and have spent 21 years together with him,” she said. “Next time, I should meet other men and experience dating different people.”
Her playful remark drew laughter, especially when she added, “No matter how much I like someone, meeting the same person again…”
Born in 1982, Han Ga In married Yeon Jung Hoon in 2005. The celebrity couple has remained one of the entertainment industry’s most well-known married pairs for two decades.
Han Ga In also spoke about her personal YouTube channel, Free Woman Han Ga In, and the meaning behind its name.
She explained, “The producer and I came up with the name together. The thing I was worst at was living freely. We named it with the hope that I could break away from that and live more freely.”
Han Ga In shared that after getting married and becoming a mother, she wanted to show audiences her true personality rather than the image people had formed of her over the years.
“A lot of people tell me, ‘You’re much more easygoing than I expected,’” she said. “I think many people assume I’m very quiet and don’t talk much.”
The actress reflected on how she had spent most of her life confined by the image created around her after debuting at a young age.
“I debuted when I was very young and always lived within the image people expected of me,” Han Ga In explained. “I started YouTube because I wanted to show my real self—the ordinary, somewhat auntie-like version of me. When I take on comedic or unglamorous roles, I feel a sense of catharsis.”
