On May 29, the YouTube channel Jung Sang Hoon Bijung Sang Hoon uploaded a video titled, “Gummy Would Never Do This… Jo Jung Suk Gets Heated While Giving Relationship Advice to Subscribers.”
In the video, Jo Jung Suk joined actor Jung Sang Hoon and several acquaintances for a series of relationship-themed balance game questions. When asked to choose between emotional cheating and physical cheating, Jo Jung Suk surprisingly answered that physical cheating would be easier to accept. Explaining his reasoning, he said, “The reason physical cheating is somewhat better is because emotional cheating doesn’t just hurt one person. It can destroy an entire family. Physical cheating can also destroy a relationship, but if I choose to forgive and rebuild it, there’s still a chance. Emotional cheating, however, never truly comes back.” He continued by emphasizing the importance of emotional connection in his marriage to Gummy. “My wife and I share a very strong emotional bond. Because of that, I absolutely cannot accept emotional love being directed toward someone else,” he said firmly.
The conversation then shifted to another hypothetical scenario: whether it would be acceptable for a spouse to have drinks alone with a friend of the opposite sex while their partner was asleep. Jung Sang Hoon responded that it would depend on what kind of friend it was. Jo Jung Suk agreed, saying that context was important. He then shared a personal story involving Gummy and one of his close friends in Japan. “While my friend was on a business trip, Gummy happened to be in Japan for an event. The two of them met up there and had a drink together. I was completely fine with it. There was absolutely no issue,” he revealed, demonstrating the level of trust in their relationship.

Jo Jung Suk also spoke about how his approach to resolving conflicts has changed over the years. When asked to choose between a partner who blocks communication during arguments and a partner who keeps calling until the issue is resolved, he selected the latter as the more frustrating option. “I’ve changed,” he admitted. “In the past, I probably would have disliked the partner who blocked communication more. Now, I think the partner who keeps calling is worse.”
Reflecting on his dating days with Gummy, whose real name is Park Ji Yeon, he confessed that he used to insist on resolving every issue immediately. “When I was dating Ji Yeon, I always wanted to settle everything in that exact moment. Through that process, I learned a lot about myself,” he said. He went on to praise his wife for her maturity and emotional intelligence. “Ji Yeon was much more open-minded and handled relationships in a much more admirable way. Looking back, I’ve changed because of that,” Jo Jung Suk shared.
