UNIS’s leader Ji Hyeon-joo Introduces Members’ Different Charms On “Weekly Idol”
Multinational girl group UNIS revealed their diverse charms and individualities on the entertainment program “Weekly Idol”
The April 10th broadcast of MBC M’s “Weekly Idol” featured the appearance of the rookie girl group UNIS.
UNIS is a super girl rookie group formed through SBS’s global audition “Universe Ticket” with 8 members, including Jin Hyeon-joo, Bang Yoon-ha, Oh Yoon-ah, Lim Seo-won (Korean), Nana, Kotoko (Japanese), Gehlee Dangca and Elisia (Filipino). The youngest member Lim Seo-won was born in 2011 while the oldest member Jin Hyeon-joo was born in 2001.
After showing off their charms with an opening dance, the members then took turns to introduce themselves. In Filipino, Elisia said, “I’m Elisia from the Philippines. I’m so happy to come out on this show as a member of UNIS. I’m still young but I really love performing on the stage”. Bang Yoon-ha called herself “UNIS’s passion mansour”, and Ji Hyeon-joo introduced herself as “reliable and charismatic leader”.
The youngest Im Seo-won said, “I’m the group’s lovely maknae”, and Kotoko added, “I’m in charge of over-reaction”. Nana, who is from Tokyo, expressed her love for “udon and scallops” in Japanese. In English, Oh Yoon-ah introduced, “I’m a mischievous puppy”, while Gehlee Dangca shared, “You can call me Gehlee”.
UNIS’s team name is short for “U&I STORY”, which means to make stories between you and me starting in the universe. Their first mini album “WE UNIS” showcases 8 different colors of the 8 members under the theme “The story of you and me” and “The beginning”. The title song “Superwoman” delivers the message of UNIS’s confident and lovely ambition that anyone can become a superwoman at any time if they want.
Leader Jin Hyeon-joo proudly said, “The members of our team have different charms so it will be very interesting to take a look at us”, adding “My charms are my versatility and charisma. I can be either cute or charismatic. Elisia has an amazing voice tone and an impressive vocal. Bang Yoon-ha is a little weird. Lim Seo-won is the youngest but her skills are at level A”.
She continued, “I want to put Kotoko in my pocket. She’s very small and soft. She’s not cute but rather lovely. In the case of Nana, I think she’s a European doll when I see her face. Oh Yoon-ah is a naughty girl but unlike Bang Yoon-ha. Gehlee is different from her gestures. She’s unique. All the 8 members are just different from each other”.
Meanwhile, UNIS made their debut on March 27th.
