Girl’s Day member & actress Yura reportedly leads “Marrying the Mafia” remake film alongside Yoon Hyun Min
Yura, actress and member of Girl’s Day, will lead the remake of the comedy movie “Marrying the Mafia”.
According to News1 report on July 10th, Yura will make her debut on the big screen as the main character of “Reboot: Glory Again (literal title)”.
“Reboot: Glory Again” is a remake of the Korean comedy film series “Marrying the Mafia”, which is considered a representative comedy series in Korea. Starring Jung Joon Ho and Kim Jung Eun, the original work “Marrying the Mafia” was a big hit in 2002. It was followed by Season 2 in 2005, starring Shin Hyun Joon and Kim Won Hee, Season 3 in 2006, Season 4 in 2011, and Season 5 in 2012.
11 years after the premiere of Season 5, “Marrying the Mafia” will be rebooted as “Reboot: Glory Again” with more stories. It takes the storyline of the first film released in 2002 and introduces new characters through recasting.
Following the news of Yoon Hyun Min’s casting, Yura also reportedly joins the project as the female lead, raising fans’ expectations for the two’s chemistry. This film, which shows Yura’s character encountering Yoon Hyun-min’s character by chance and becoming involved in a crisis that leads to marriage, promises to deliver great fun to viewers.
Yura debuted as a member of Girl’s Day in 2010 and gained huge love from fans in Korea and overseas after participating in the promotions of various hit songs, such as “Twinkle Twinkle”, “Expectation”, “Something”, etc. She expanded her career to acting and showcased her talent through various dramas, such as “To the Beautiful You”, “Radio Romance”, “Forecasting Love and Weather”, etc.
In addition, she is scheduled to greet viewers as one of the main characters of “Destined With You” this August. After then, she will appear in “Reboot: Glory Again” and carry out activities in both dramas and movies.
Along with Yoon Hyun Min and Yura, “Reboot: Glory Again” will also feature the appearance of original series actors Kim Soo Mi and Tak Jae Hoon. Seo Hyo Rim also joins the cast as a new character. Filming will begin in the second half of this year.
