TWICE’s first subunit in 8 years: Mina, Sana, and Momo to make Japanese debut in July 

TWICE members Mina, Sana, and Momo will form the group’s first subunit, ‘MISAMO,’ and will make their official debut in Japan in July.

JYP Entertainment thrilled fans around the world with the release of opening trailers and photos of Mina, Sana on Feb 8th, and Momo on Feb 9th on TWICE’s official Japanese SNS channel. At 4:00 am KST on Feb 9th, the subunit name MISAMO was revealed along with a group trailer and photos of the three members. The birth of TWICE’s first subunit was officially announced.

MISAMO, the first subunit that TWICE will introduce after 8 years of debut, consists of three Japanese members, Mina, Sana, and Momo. MISAMO plans to release their 1st mini album in Japan on July 26th and carry out full-fledged activities.

On Jan 25th, Mina, Sana, and Momo released a new song titled “Bouquet” in Japan. “Bouquet” is an OST for TV Asahi’s Friday night drama “Liaison: Children’s Heart Clinic”. The warm vocals of the three members, which match well with the contents of the drama, garnered favorable reviews. It topped the Top 100 Daily Chart as well as the Weekly Chart (01.25-01.31). In addition, they previously showed signs of a subunit debut, such as gracing the cover of the March issue of Vogue Japan.

Recently, TWICE’s pre-release English single “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE” released on January 20 entered the US Billboard main chart “Hot 100” at No. 84 on February 4 (local time). After their first English single “The Feels” debuted at No. 83 in 2021, TWICE showed off the ability to climb the “Hot 100” chart for the second time in their career. TWICE, who started their activities in 2023 with good results, will release the new mini-album “READY TO BE” on March 10 at 2:00 pm KST (midnight EST).
