TWICE becomes 1st Kpop girl group to appear on famous US show “NBC Today”

A day before performing at MetLife Stadium in New York, TWICE became the 1st Kpop girl group to appear on “NBC Today”.

On July 5th (local time), TWICE made their first appearance on NBC’s representative morning show “Today” (hereinafter referred to as “NBC Today”), becoming the first Kpop girl group to ever do so.

The live broadcast took place at the Rockefeller Center Plaza in New York, and here, TWICE presented their hit songs that have been loved not only in the US but also worldwide, waking up the city of New York in the morning.

In addition, “NBC Today” anchor Craig Melvin introduced TWICE as “The History-Making Queens of Kpop”, as the members greeted fans who filled up Rockefeller Center Plaza in English, making it even more meaningful.

Then, TWICE performed the band versions for two songs of theirs that swept the Billboard charts in 2023, including their English single “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE” and the English version of their latest title track “SET ME FREE”. At the same time, the girl group also melted fans’ hearts with a performance of “Alcohol-Free”, which goes well with the early summer season.

On that day, Rockefeller Center Plaza was filled with countless fans, who gathered to see TWICE. Long queues formed since the day before, and when the members appeared, the fans cheered and sang along, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere that resembled a concert.

TWICE, who appeared on stage while wearing the costumes from their “SET ME FREE” music video, responded to the great love and hospitality by exuding a variety of charms depending on the song, including powerful energy with charisma, lyrical atmosphere, and enchanting beauty.

The iconic landmarks of New York, tinged with the pink color of “Candybongs” (TWICE’s official lightstick) waving vigorously by the fans, swayed romantically, harmonizing with the stage effects of soap bubbles.

On the other hand, on July 6th, TWICE will hold a solo concert at the MetLife Stadium in New York, as part of “TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR – ‘READY TO BE’”

Earlier in June, the girl group sold out the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, and ended up performing for an audience of 50,000 people. Now, TWICE has also achieved a sold-out status at the MetLife Stadium, solidifying their record of being the first girl group in the world to perform at the largest stadiums in the US, making them highly regarded in the history of female groups worldwide.

Meanwhile, TWICE’s historic solo concert at the MetLife Stadium in New York will take place on July 6th at 7:30 PM (local time), promising to become a memorable night in the history of New York.
