Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth is said to be on the verge of retirement from the film industry after discovering he has the Alzheimer’s gene.

In particular, after learning that he has a high risk of having Alzheimer’s disease, the actor said that he’s slowing down, not retiring, but a source claimed that Chris doesn’t plan to take on many roles due to this health concern, said Page Six.

Previously, while filming the National Geographic and Disney+ docuseries “Limitless”, Chris Hemsworth discovered that he has a gene that is often linked to Alzheimer. On the other hand, Alzheimer’s disease is the most common degenerative brain disease that causes dementia.

According to this result, Chris Hemsworth’s chance of getting Alzheimer’s disease is 8-10 times higher than that of an ordinary person. He and his wife, Elsa Pataky, are thus making efforts to prevent dementia.

At the time, Chris Hemsworth mentioned that his memory seems to be getting worse, though it may be a consequence of the placebo effect.

Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth played the role of Thor in the Marvel cinematic universe.
