“Disagreement on compensation amount”… The reason Kim Sae-ron has not yet completed the compensation for damages in her drunk driving accident

About 4 months have passed since the drunk driving accident of actress Kim Sae-ron. Recovery and compensation for damages in the accident have almost been completed.

Kim Sae-ron has nearly completed compensating to about 30 places, including shopping malls and buildings, in the area affected by her drunk driving accident. The actress also accepted some of the merchants’ requirements, such as compensation for mental damage and estimated sales on the day of the accident, and settled the payments.

However, according to a newspaper report, one of the victims in Kim Sae-ron’s drunk driving accident confirmed that they have not yet reached an agreement due to differences in opinions over compensation with the actress’s side.

In this regard, Kim Sae-ron’s agency Gold Medalist cautiously revealed their position as Kim Sae-ron’s drunk driving case has not completely been closed yet. Accordingly, it will take more time for the final compensation to the damaged merchant, with whom they have not yet reached an agreement, to be completed.

Also, the cost of the repair of the broken transformer has not yet been paid. According to Kim Sae-ron’s representative, the cost of transformer restoration will be paid through insurance. Due to the insurance and administrative process, it will take about six months for the payment to be settled.

Earlier, various media outlets reported that the cost of the transformer repair had been fixed at about 20 million won. However, it was later confirmed that the Korea Electric Power Corporation charged Kim Sae-ron a total of 17 million won for the restoration of the transformer broken in her drunk driving accident.

The payment for the wooden structure that protects the transformer has been completed. In May, Kim Sae-ron was caught crashing into trees and a transformer on the street while driving under the influence of alcohol near Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

The wooden protector of the transformers was broken into halves and the transformer was pushed back about 50cm from its original position. The accident caused a power cut in Sinsa-dong and Apgujeong for about 4 and a half hours. Traffic was paralyzed by traffic lights that went off due to the power cut and nearby shopping malls were also unable to operate payments with credit cards. In short, the accident caused inconvenience to many merchants and residents. It is known that the transformer was restored at around 11:40 a.m. on the same day.

Kim Sae-ron’s agency visited the accident scene on the day of the accident and responded to the situation by contacting building owners and merchants who complained of damages. It is also said that Kim Sae-ron personally visited the shopping mall and apologized to the victims.
