Kim Se Ui, the head of controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, appeared in court on May 26 for an arrest warrant hearing related to allegations involving the late actress Kim Sae Ron and actor Kim Soo Hyun.

Kim Se Ui is accused of spreading false information connected to Kim Sae Ron and defaming Kim Soo Hyun. However, upon arriving at court, he strongly denied all allegations and criticized the investigation.

According to reports, Kim Se Ui described the prosecution’s request for an arrest warrant as a “forced and unreasonable warrant request.”

One of the key issues in the case involves an audio file previously revealed during a broadcast related to the late Kim Sae Ron.

Police reportedly concluded that the recording had been manipulated using artificial intelligence technology. However, Kim Se Ui disputed that finding during his court appearance.

“The National Forensic Service said it was impossible to determine whether the file was AI-generated or manipulated,” he reportedly argued.

He also criticized the police investigation, claiming authorities were relying on a private company allegedly commissioned by Kim Soo Hyun’s side rather than the official forensic agency’s assessment.

Despite his strong denials, reports noted that Kim Se Ui did not clearly answer detailed questions regarding the verification process for the informant who provided the audio recording.

The YouTuber additionally claimed that information included in the arrest warrant was false and reportedly stated his intention to file complaints against both police and prosecutors for alleged abuse of legal authority.
