The most tragic stage accident of Cbiz: a dancer’s life completely ruined, a boy group permanently traumatized

The 600kg LED screen that fell and crushed a dancer right in the middle of a performance left behind heavy consequences

According to Chinese media site HK01, the tragedy that unfolded during the concert of Hong Kong boy group Mirror, has made headlines across Asia. Crushed by a 600kg LED screen, famous male dancer Mo Lee Kai Yin has now permanently lost his dream to stand on stage. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong boy group Mirror was also severely affected, as the group’s image was stained in the public’s eyes. Below are the current situations of victims in this tragedy.

A talented dancer that had his life ruined

Prior to the incident, male dancer Mo Lee Kai Yin was an extremely famous and talented personality. He was considered a top choreographer in Hong Kong, and has worked with numerous A-list celebrities.

In 2018, Mo Lee Kai Yin participated in a Chinese survival show and made it to the Top 55. He then became the main back-dancer of Hong Kong boy group Mirror. The male dancer was well-recognized for his alluring movies and astounding techniques, and is expected to lead a bright future in showbiz. He is also friends with a lot of celebrities.

However, the serious incident, which occurred on July 28th, left Mo Lee Kai Yin with heavy chances of being paralyzed in all limbs. In addition, he had little to no chance of recovery, and was basically forced to retire with his level of injury.

In addition, Mo Lee Kai Yin suffered from a seriously damaged cervical vertebrae and severed spinal cord, and even after 3 major surgeries, his nerves may not be able to grow back. From a prospective dancer, even moving is now difficult.

The fact that he is alive is already a miracle. If the screen had hit him a little bit higher, then he wouldn’t be able to breath and survive. Even then, Mo Lee Kai Yin still runs a high risk of being paralyzed from the neck down, and would only be able to move his head and neck if such is the case”, the doctor in charge of the injured dancer said.

To make it worse, Moo Lee Kai Yin was supposed to marry his girlfriend after years of dating, but the couple’s plan is now indefinitely delayed. His girlfriend could not do anything but be struck with great sorrow, as her lover has been in the ICU and deep in coma for 5 consecutive days, and is in critical condition.

Boy group Mirror also suffer from heavy consequences

HK01 also stated that while the incident was not Mirror’s fault, their image was stained by this tragedy.

In particular, audiences who watched the performance were traumatized by the tragic accident, while newsreaders also gained a poor impression of the group. Mirror’s name is now affiliated with such a devastating event.

Moreover, Mirror’s activities are now put on hold indefinitely, as requested by government agencies. The remaining 8 nights of their concert tour also run the risk of cancellation. Meanwhile, members of the group are traumatized from the incident, and netizens demand for a thorough investigation before the concert resumes. The safety of Mirror is also brought to question, as other accidents have occurred during previous performances.

In addition, various brands decided to terminate their contracts with Mirror, as the group’s image “evoke unpleasant feelings within the public.” As a result, Mirror has to endure heavy financial losses, and their merchandise cannot be sold.

The organizer of Mirror’s concert is also being investigated by Hong Kong’s Ministry of Labor.

Prior to the tragic event, Mirror was among the most favorite boy groups in Hong Kong. Formed in 2018 with 12 members, the group managed to attract millions for fans from all age ranges, with several being in their 60s.

They used to represent over 180 brands, and were basically on every product and platform in Hong Kong. The “Mirror sensation” was also considered a resurrection to the dwindling Hong Kong entertainment industry, and the group’s company reported revenues growing as high as 150%.

However, whether the group will be able to recover from his tragedy will be hard to tell.
