Singer-actress Jiyeon (Park Ji Yeon, 29 years old) is getting married to baseball player Hwang Jae Gyun (35 years old) today (Dec 10th).
On December 10th, Jiyeon and Hwang Jae Gyun will hold their wedding in Seoul.
Earlier in February, Jiyeon revealed her romantic relationship with Hwang Jae Gyun and announced the news of their marriage through a handwritten letter. At that time, Jiyeon confessed, “I took courage to write this letter because I wanted to deliver this news to my fans in person”, adding “I have a boyfriend who I am dating with good feelings after getting to know him through an acquaintance”. She also attached a photo taken with Hwang Jae Gyun.
She continued, “I’ve promised to get married in the coming winter with my boyfriend, who was always considerate and cared for me first and taught me that happiness was a gift in my life”, adding “I will live a happy life with my strong and reliable boyfriend, who always holds me when I feel unstable and gives me a shoulder to lean on.”
Hwang Jae Gyun also posted a handwritten letter, saying “I decided to marry a friend who held me firmly and helped me a lot just with her existence by my side when I was suffering a hard time last year”, adding “It may be a little sudden, but the reason I’m saying this is because I think articles about my romantic relationship or wedding would create a little confusion for my team KT, which is running hard with one goal of a victory, during the season. I think I should announce it before the start of the season, so I wrote this letter”. He promised, “I will continue to love her until our wedding and even after the wedding”.
After announcing their marriage, Jiyeon visited the baseball stadium several times to support her fiancé Hwang Jae Gyun and also sent a snack truck to Hwang Jae Gyun’s baseball team KT Wiz.
Meanwhile, Jiyeon debuted as a member of T-ara in 2009. The group became famous after releasing various hit songs, including “Lie”, “Bo Peep Bo Peep”, “Crazy because of you”, “Roly-Poly”, etc. Jiyeon also established herself as an actress by starring in dramas, such as “Dream High 2”, “Triangle”, “I Wanna Hear Your Song”, and “Imitation”. Her upcoming movie “Gangnam Zombie” is scheduled to premiere on January 5th, 2023.
Hwang Jae Gyun made his debut with Hyundai Unicorns in 2006, and later joined Nexen Heroes and Lotte Giants. In 2017, he played in the U.S Major League Baseball for San Francisco Giants. The following year, he returned to Korea and is currently playing for KT Wiz.
