Lee Chae Yeon burst into tears as she finally earned her 1st win after losing 4 consecutive times in “Street Woman Fighter”
The rebellion of the weak, Lee Chae Yeon won her 1st valuable victory.
In the latest episode of Mnet’s “Street Woman Fighter” which was aired on the evening of August 31, Lee Chae Yeon (team WANT) and Taro (HollyBang) competed in a ‘no respect’ battle. After losing 4 times in a row, Lee Chae Yeon was once again selected for the 5th battle. Having received 6 ‘NO RESPECT’ stickers because she was an idol dancer, she lost all 4 previous battles and revealed the nervousness on her face ahead of the 5th one.
Lee Chae Yeon shared with a burdened heart, “I always try to comfort myself by saying ‘You are doing well’, but after losing 4 times in a row, I wondered if I could stay in this battle”. Other dancers and judge BoA felt pity for her because she has been called out on the battle stage for most of the times, “They thought that she is weak, it feels like the competitors keep on pointing her out because she is famous”
MC Kang Daniel shouted to begin Chaeyeon’s 5th battle. Standing in front of Taro, who looked quite confident, Lee Chae Yeon couldn’t hold her expression and revealed her nervousness. Looking at her friend, leader of WANT, Choi Hyo Jin said, “I felt hurt seeing Chae Yeon standing alone on stage”
Taro confidently started the battle by showing off her explosive charisma with various dance moves. She also made a gesture to provoke the idol dancer Lee Chae Yeon. Lee Chae Yeon confessed, “It’s she was asking me why I am standing here”
Lee Chae Yeon’s expression suddenly changed after being provoked by Taro’s gesture that implied, ‘You’re not supposed to be here’. Chae Yeon began her dance part with powerful moves and dominated the stage with energy. She did her best with the cheers from leader Choi Hyo Jin and members of WANT.
After the breathtaking competition, Lee Chae Yeon won 2:1 against Taro. It was the 1st victory that she had been waiting for; therefore, Chae Yeon cried in the arms of her team members. Seeing the scene, judge BoA also got emotional.
Choi Hyo Jin, who had been cheering and watching Chae Yeon’s stage until the end, said, “I was just standing there to cheer for my friends who were on the stage, but I feel proud of them.” Breaking the prejudice against idol dancers, Lee Chae Yeon said, “I didn’t give up because I don’t want to become a weak person who runs away after failures.”
Not giving up, Lee Chae Yeon finally won her valuable first win. Hwang Sang Hoon, who raised Lee Chae Yeon’s hand to announce her win, said, “I could see that she has improved a lot through battles”. BoA also commented, “I feel relieved inside”. She also expressed her expectations for Chae Yeon: “Lee Chae Yeon was thrown into the jungle and kept getting bitten; however, this would make her become a stronger and greater performer.”
