Sooyoung Spent Girls’ Generation 16th Anniversary Alone and In Tears?

On the December 27 episode of KBS’s “Problem Child in House”, Girls’ Generation member and actress Sooyoung appeared as a guest alongside actor Song Jae-rim.

Here, Sooyoung mentioned how she spent time on Girls’ Generation 16th Anniversary, and expressed her wishes for group activities on the 20th anniversary.

In particular, Sooyoung said, “I recently attended senior Uhm Jung-hwa’s concert, and her presence on stage was tremendous. She has many hit songs, so she sang and danced a lot, and I felt the passion. After feeling that heat, I thought that Girls’ Generation should definitely have a concert”, adding that she hoped for a concert on Girls’ Generation 20th anniversary.

Following this, the MCs showed their willingness to attend the Girls’ Generation 20th-anniversary concert, saying that Girls’ Generation’s hit songs are also formidable. This added fuel to Sooyoung’s passion for the concert. The question now arises whether all Girls’ Generation members can come together before their 20th debut anniversary.

Regarding this, Sooyoung revealed that she celebrated the Girls’ Generation 16th anniversary alone this year and shed tears.

“This year, our schedules didn’t align, so we couldn’t get together for Girls’ Generation 16th anniversary. I lit the candles on the cake alone at home and watched a video of all the stages of Girls’ Generation. I watched all the music show videos from debut until now. Old memories came back, and my tears flowed”, she confessed.

Moreover, Sooyoung shared untold stories from Girls’ Generation’s debut to episodes that caused a sensation during their activities in Japan.

On the other hand, Lee Chan-won recalled the popularity of Girls’ Generation during his school days, saying, “No group could surpass Girls’ Generation during middle school. We played Girls’ Generation stages on the classroom monitor, and when we sang along together, everyone became one.”

He also confessed to being a genuine fan of Girls’ Generation.
