The situation is making many netizens upset.
Recently, on theqoo community, Korean netizens are debating heatedly over the topic of “Arthdal Chronicles – the Korean version of Game of Thrones”. Many netizens pointed out that, even though Arthdal Chronicles still hasn’t went on air yet, the teaser images show that the producers are trying to copy the costumes and scene ideas from the American famous TV show.
Some comments from the Korean netizens said: “They don’t know that there’s a thing called copyright law?”; “The outfits are literally the same”; “Many said that this is something in common between fantasy movies and denied the plagiarise rumours, where are they now huh?”; “ It hasn’t been aired yet and this is the result. Once it go on air, every episode will be compared to the original one. Don’t the producers feel ashamed of this?”; “This is embarrassing, you guys are using the background of Korea’s old times but have to copy the outfits of foreigners”…
Arthdal Chronicles is the main project of tvN in 2019 which is highly-expected by many. The drama consists of 3 seasons, is a historical fantasy genre with 4 main characters: Song Joong Ki, Jang Dong Gun, Kim Ji Won and Kim Ok Bin. The story mainly focuses on the war for power and love at the land of Arthdal, Gosojeon (an old name of the Korea peninsula)’s capital.
Arthdal Chronicles has already had it 1st episode on air at 9PM on tvN, June 1st.
