Actor Song Joong-ki (38) revealed that he is auditioning for opportunities on the global stage
On Sep 25th, Song Joong-ki conducted an interview with Ten Asia at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul regarding his film “Hopeless” (directed by Kim Chang-hoon).
“Hopeless” is a neo-noir thriller film about a boy named Yeon-gyu (Hong Xa-bin), who wants to escape from the hellish reality, meeting an organization’s middle boss Chi-geon (Song Joong-ki) and experiencing the dangerous world together. It is scheduled to be released theatrically on October 11th.
During the interview, Song Joong-ki confirmed the reports about auditioning for a BBC project in the UK, stating that it is not a rumor but a fact.
“I’ve been going to auditions for a while. It’s something I’ve been doing continuously. Since my wife was an actress, she has a lot of close friends in the industry who work in the UK or the US, and they introduced me to auditions. I’d like to try any role, big or small, as long as it’s interesting. Unfortunately, I didn’t pass any of the auditions I’ve attended so far.”
Song Joong-ki is currently raising his son together with his wife Katy Louise Saunders (39) in Rome, Italy, her hometown. He mentioned, “It’s been about 100 days, and I often wonder if I’m really a dad while feeding my son milk. However, I still feel proud.”
