The 59th Baeksang Arts Awards will see Song Hye Kyo and Park Eun Bin competing for the Best Actress in a TV drama category.

The highly-anticipated Baeksang Arts Awards has announced its final nominees for TV, film, and theater categories, and it’s shaping up to be an intense competition, especially for the Best Actress in a TV drama category.

Song Hye Kyo and Park Eun Bin, are set to clash for the coveted award, with both actresses delivering remarkable performances in their respective series.

Song Hye Kyo’s “The Glory” has become a global sensation, with both Part 1 and Part 2 earning widespread acclaim for its intense and gripping storyline about a woman seeking revenge after enduring a traumatic childhood. 

On the other hand, Park Eun Bin has captured audiences with her portrayal of a rookie lawyer with autism in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” which broke records for its high ratings and critical acclaim.

But they are not the only ones vying for the award. Other nominees include Kim Ji Won for “My Liberation Notes,” Kim Hye Soo for “Under The Queen’s Umbrella,” and Suzy for “Anna,” all of whom have also delivered outstanding performances in their respective dramas.

The Best Supporting Actress category is also filled with talented actresses, including Kim Shin Rok (“Reborn Rich”), Yeom Hye Ran (“The Glory”), Lee El “My Liberation Notes”), and Lim Ji Yeon (“The Glory”), Jung Eun Chae (“Anna”).

The judging criteria for the Baeksang Arts Awards this year include content provided on terrestrial, cable, OTT, and web platforms from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023, as well as Korean feature films released during the same period and theater performances held domestically. A preliminary survey was conducted among 60 professional evaluation committee members, and judges were appointed for each category based on recommendations from a group of experts representing TV, film, and theater. The judges went through a fair and rigorous judging process to determine the final nominees. More detailed information and the final nominees can be found on the official website.

The 59th Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony will be held on April 28 and will be broadcast live on JTBC, JTBC2, JTBC4, and TikTok.
