Black Pink sets a new YouTube record

The four BLACK PINK girls has just set another YouTube record, which no other Kpop has done, with the music video ‘Kill This Love’

On May 22, Black Pink’s hit MV “Kill This Love” achieved 1.3 billion views on Youtube.  The YG girl group originally released this MV on April 5, 2019, which means it took just over two years, a month, and 17 days to reach this milestone.

“Kill This Love” is currently the fastest K-pop group music video to reach 1.3 billion views.  It also broke Black Pink’s previous record for “DDU-DU DDU-DU” with two years, two months and 21 days.  In terms of melody, “Kill this love” is a song composed by “music wizard” Teddy.  It features a mix of brass and loud drums, accompanied by a catchy chorus and rap.

Besides, the public is also “ecstatic” because of the members’ gorgeous beauty and diverse concepts in the MV.  This time, YG’s creative team and stylist received countless compliments for creating top quality and eye-catching footage.

Aside from “Kill This Love” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” the only other Korean music videos to hit 1.3 billion views on YouTube so far are PSY’s “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman.”  Hopefully, in the future, there will be many Kpop groups to achieve this milestone.
