The Mnet girl group competition “Queendom 2’ has been the most buzz-worthy non-drama TV show for 3 weeks in a row.
According to Good Data’s ranking for top TV shows in Korea for the 3rd week of May, non-drama category, Mnet’s “Queendom 2” has nailed the first position for 3 weeks in a row. The runner-up is KBS1’s “Open Concert”, which recently trended due to the appearance of South Korea’s new president and his wife. This is the first time “Open Concert” managed to enter the list.
The 8th place belongs to KBS1’s “National Singing Contest”, which gained attention after news about the deteriorating health of the show host, Song Hae, surfaced. The senior host also took first place in the Good Data’s chart for non-drama TV personalities
MBC’s “Hangout with Yoo” and “I Live Alone”, SBS’s “Running Man”, tvN’s “Yoo Quiz On The Block”, and ENA PLAY/SBS Plus’s “I Am SOLO” took up the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th places, respectively.
In the chart for non-drama TV personalities, Kpop groups and Queendom 2’ contestants Cosmic Girls (WJSN), Kep1er, and VIVIZ, came respectively in 2nd, 3rd, and 9th. Meanwhile, Park Se Ri and (G)-IDLE Soyen landed in 4th and 5th place, with their appearances in “I Live Alone”.
The Good Data’s ranking for non-drama TV shows and TV personalities for the third week of May was announced on May 23rd and compiled by Good Data Corporation, which specializes in analyzing Korean broadcasting contents. According to the organization, they used netizens’ reactions to 199 dramas and non-drama TV shows, which were broadcasting or scheduled to be broadcasted from May 16th to May 22nd, on news articles, blogs and communities, as well as videos and SNS for analysis.
