During the past few days, Chinese netizens have been sharing the heartbreaking story of top gamer with the nickname Fat Cat, born in 2003, making an extreme choice by jumping off a bridge after breaking up with his girlfriend.
Early on the morning of April 11th, Fat Cat reportedly jumped off a bridge in Chongqing after his failed romance. After receiving reports about Fat Cat’s passing, his older sister checked through her brother’s message and call records then found out that Fat Cat took his own life due to his failed romance with a girl named Tan Zhu, born in 1997.
According to Fat Cat’s sister, her brother worked hard 15 hours a day to earn money during the time he dated Tan Zhu. During their two years of dating, Fat Cat sent all the money he had to his girlfriend as “gifts” so that she could freely travel, go shopping and eat delicious food. On the other hand, he only ate cheap meals and did not even buy things for himself. Despite Fat Cat’s sincerity and efforts, Tan Zhu eventually wanted to break up with him only 1 month before they registered their marriage as promised. Fat Cat tried to fix their relationship several times but failed so he ended up making an extreme choice.
Later, Fat Cat’s sister called Tan Zhu herself to confirm all the issues related to her relationship with Fat Cat. However, Tan Zhu refused to meet Fat Cat’s sister and asked the family to sign an agreement promising that she would return 136.000 yuan to them.
At first, Fat Cat’s sister thought Tan Zhu and Fat Cat had a good relationship before the incident so she signed the agreement. However, after reading more conversations between the two during the time they were still dating, Fat Cat’s family realized that the girlfriend always ignored Fat Cat even though he tried to provide her with money.
