“My Dearest” part 2 heralded the poignant reunion between Lee Jang-hyun (Nam Goong-min) and Yoo Gil-chae (Ahn Eun-jin)
MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “My Dearest” released a preview video for part 2 on September 29th, the day of Chuseok. The video captured the touching and heartfelt moment when Lee Jang-hyun and Yoo Gil-chae meet with even deeper affection.
In the preview, Lee Jang-hyun is seen drinking alone under the bright moon late at night. He then looks somber as he heads somewhere. Beyond the door he arrives at, there is Yoo Gil-chae, who appears somewhat hesitant.
As Yoo Gil-chae tries to open the door, she hears Lee Jang-hyun say, “Isn’t it strange? On a night with such a bright moon, I’m here with you.” She cautiously stops in her tracks upon hearing his words. The two of them then sit on either side of the door.
Lee Jang-hyun says with a trembling voice, “I don’t know where it all went wrong.” His sorrow, stained with an unerasable love for Yoo Gil-chae, is keenly felt.
Yoo Gil-chae sheds tears without being able to open the door. The poignant love between these two unreachable individuals touches viewers’ hearts.
Despite being a relatively short video, the preview delicately and dramatically captured the heartfelt emotions of Lee Jang-hyun and Yoo Gil-chae. Actors Nam Goong-min and Ahn Eun-jin portrayed the protagonists’ sad fate and enduring love with even more detail and depth than in part 1.
Additionally, the preview left several intriguing questions unanswered, piquing viewers’ curiosity. Fans of the drama are now eagerly awaiting part 2 with even more fervor than before, as they wonder how Lee Jang-hyun and Yoo Gil-chae, who parted sadly at the end of part 1, will reunite and what emotions will drive them.
Set during the Qing invasion of Joseon, “My Dearest” depicts the story of people who cultivate hope in the midst of hardship. Part 2 will premiere at 9:50 PM on October 13th.
“My Dearest” achieved high popularity during part 1, recording the highest viewership ratings of 12.2% (Nielsen Korea nationwide). It also ranked first in the Friday-Saturday drama lineup across all channels.
