Actor Lee Jae-wook announced that he won “Asia Special Award, Actor” at the “Asia Model Awards”.
On Oct 16th, Lee Jae-wook received “Asia Special Award, Actor” at the 2022 Asia Model Awards held in Uijeongbu. The Asia Special Award is given to the star who is greatly loved in Asia.
In his acceptance speech, Lee Jae-wook said, “I received this award not long after the drama ‘Alchemy of Souls’ ended. I want to say thank you so much to the ‘Alchemy of Souls‘ team for being with me. I will try my best to become a better actor.”
He recently proved his stable acting ability by playing the main character Jang Uk in tvN’s drama “Alchemy of Souls”. “Alchemy of Souls” Season 2 is scheduled to air in December under the name of “Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow”.
Lee Jae-wook debuted in the entertainment industry in 2018 by playing the villain Marco in tvN’s drama “Memories of the Alhambra”. Lee Jae-wook, who is now in his 5th year since debut, met Hyun Bin in his first work then immediately signed an exclusive contract with Hyun Bin’s agency VAST Entertainment.
VAST Entertainment holds an open audition for new actors every year. In fact, actors Kim Ji-in, Shin Do-hyun and Park Yi-hyun, who debuted through VAST’s auditions, are showing remarkable performances in various fields.
Lee Jae-wook did not go through the audition. Perhaps because of that, since VAST Entertainment started as Hyun Bin’s one-man agency, there was also speculation that Lee Jae-wook was Hyun Bin’s pick.
In a related development, Lee Jae-wook said in an interview, “I heard such rumors, but it wasn’t really that. I heard that he’s the CEO of the academy and company. I got introduced after I got accepted to the audition. We had a meeting and signed a contract before entering ‘Memories of the Alhambra’.”
Lee Jae-wook signed a contract with VAST Entertainment and showed perfect character digestion in tvN’s “WWW,” MBC’s “A Day I Found By Chance,” and JTBC’s “I’ll Find You If the Weather Is Nice.” Hyun Bin’s support for him also continued.
Hyun Bin also sent a coffee truck as a gift to the filming location of KBS 2TV drama “Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol” to support Lee Jae-wook.
Lee Jae-wook posted a photo of the coffee truck on his Instagram, saying, “Thank you, senior!” In the photo, Lee Jae-wook greeted Hyun Bin at a 90-degree angle.
Meanwhile, after his contract with VAST Entertainment ended last year, he joined hands with C-Jes Entertainment, which includes Ryu Jun-yeol, Choi Min-sik, Seol Kyung-gu, and Moon So-ri.
