Lee Kyung-kyu mentions superstition + Yoo Jae-suk responds “I’m more worried about the recording next week” (SBS Entertainment Awards)

On the “2023 SBS Entertainment Awards” broadcast on Dec 30th, a video of “God Kyung-kyu” discussing the “dignity of the Grand Prize” was played. After introducing Lee Sang-min, Tak Jae-hoon and Lee Hyun-yi, Lee Kyung-kyu introduced Yoo Jae-suk.

Lee Kyung-kyu praised Yoo Jae-suk, “Yoo Jae-suk and I are like the parallel universe theory. Yoo Jae-suk, Kang Ho-dong and Lee Kyung-kyu were the only ones to receive grand prizes from all 3 major broadcasting stations. In particular, Yoo Jae-suk and I are the only ones who have won the Grand Prize twice or more in 30 years. Yoo Jae-suk has been responsible for SBS’s Sunday for 20 years. I also took responsibility for Sunday night in another broadcasting station for 15 years.“

However, Lee Kyung-kyu expressed concern, “Jae-suk, you won the 19th Grand Prize last year, right? There’s a thing called ah-hop-su (superstition: When your age number… ends in ‘9’ (like 19, 29, 39), you may go through some bad luck). Overcome it.“

Yoo Jae-suk responded, “Ah-hop-su? I’m more worried about the recording next week than ah-hop-su. Ah-hop-su? If I don’t receive the award this year, I can do it next year. If I can’t do it next year? I can do it the year after next. I have time.“
